National Quantum Sensor Programme Workshop

On 14 August 2024, the Quantum Engineering Programme (QEP) organized a workshop in conjunction with the launch of the National Quantum Sensor Programme (NQSP). The workshop aims to foster collaboration between industry, user-agencies, and researchers to co-develop quantum sensors. Held at the Sofitel Singapore City Centre, the event was a success, drawing over 90 attendees from local universities, government agencies, and industry partners.

Mr Ling Keok Tong, Executive Director of the National Quantum Office (NQO), opened the event with a welcome address.

Presenters from the local universities, government agencies, and industry partners shared valuable insights on quantum sensing covering three main themes: position, navigation and timing, biomedical sensing and imaging, and remote sensing.

The networking sessions over tea-breaks fostered strong interests from participants and saw a flurry of ideas exchanged. Towards the end of the event, the Quantum Engineering Programme director, Prof Johnson Goh, announced the launch of a grant call in quantum sensing. The grant call will be opened from 30 Aug 2024 to 31 Oct 2024. Interested applicants from the local universities and research institutions are welcome to submit proposals to contact@qepsg.org.
